Edward K. Brown Jr. DDS, DMedSc, completed his residency at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. In addition, he currently maintains a faculty appointment at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where he is a clinical and didactic instructor for the Department of Restorative Dentistry & Biomaterial Sciences for Pre-doctoral and Post-doctoral students through Cambridge Health Alliance.
Dr. Brown graduated from the prestigious Mercersburg Academy, in Pennsylvania and went on to continue his studies at La Salle University, where played football and baseball while majoring in Biology. He began his research career there when he was approached by the Head of Orthopedics at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia, PA to participate in a study evaluating the use of chemotherapeutics in bone grafting materials. Upon his graduation from La Salle, he gained acceptance into the Howard University College of Dentistry where he continued his research interests but changed his focus to the field of public health. Contributing to Howard’s rich history and legacy, Dr. Brown was actively involved in community outreach and volunteerism and was named Graduate Student Assembly Humanitarian of The Year in 2006 and continues to this day. Upon the completion of his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from HUCD, he continued his postgraduate education at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. At Harvard, Edward received his Specialty Certificate in Prosthodontics and Doctorate of Medical Science in Oral Biology in 2014. His dissertation focused on the creation and implementation of the first complete denture educational app (the interactive Complete Denture Syllabus) designed to teach pre-doctoral dental students the art, science and theoretical foundation of complete denture fabrication. Dr. Brown lectures internationally and most recently lectured at the 2015 General Session for the International Association of Dental Research (IADR). The American Prosthetic Society has recognized him for his innovative approach to teaching and learning. An article in the Huffington Post commended his efforts to boost interest in Science Technology Engineering Math fields. Dr. Edward K.
